The history of the Great War is the history of the 20^th Century. Many great empires fell between 1914 and 1918, as the cataclysmic force of total war shifted the political landscape of Europe. The emotional burden of the 15 million lives lost is often viewed holistically and objectively, but we feel it is important to delve into the personal affairs of an individual woman for this film, in order that we can show the cost of war on a more intimate basis.
